Florida Aquatic & Marine

Florida Aquatic & Marine was started by Danny and Linda Grizzard in 2000 as a basis for support of and promiting local artificial reefs.  The first project was working with NDSTC for facilitate the sinking of the ex-ECCOKEEK, formerly used as a training platform at the Navy Dive school in Panama City Beach.  This cover name is also used as the training base for SCUBA training from open water through instructor level.  

Artificial Reefs

Articificial reefs are man made structures place on location to enhance marine habitat.  Danny Grizzard has been involved in those types of projects since 1978 with the sinking of the Grey Ghost.  Participating in over 100 deployments including many of the larger dive sites that are popular today.  More details can be seen on our dive site page.  

The 144′ long El Dorado on December 16, 2019 became another favorite dive location sitting in 103′ depth with it’s top at 62 feet.  Click on photo to learn more information about this magnificant dive site.   (This was a great story but SPOILER ALERT after a short period of time this thin skinned aluminum hull vessel became a debris field( 

Courses

Danny Grizzard can offer certificaiton in all levels for recreational SCUBA training offered by NAUI. (naui.org)  Additionally, as a member of the first class of instructors trained by the Divers Alert Network (DAN) in 1991, Danny is authorized to teach all DAN courses through instructor.

Local Classes/Local Diving

Danny Grizzard teaches locally at Gulf Coast State College in the Wellness Department with a course that earns college credit.  Private courses are done on demand and specifically working with Indian Creek SCUBA to provide training and certification to veterans using their benefits to step into the diving world.  Above photo is Danny with his grandson Bryce Redmond about to make his first dive on the wreck of the Red Sea. (image below).  Bryce and his brother were on site when the Red Sea was deployed in 2009.  At that time Bryce was 5 years old and had his name spray painted on the wreck.
