Once Upon Time...
Billy was certified to dive in 1980 as part of his paramedic duties and was immediately hooked on the sport side as well. After becoming an instructor in 1983 he and his wife Cindy started Indian Creek SCUBA. What started as a small idea and continued to grow until this day. Multiple sets of training gear morphed into a small dive shop offering full services. The onsite pool and evenutally a small bunk room worked perfect for private students working through their training. An added bonuse was a coastal location away from the small area of Georgia that had become his customer pool. Now the second location in Panama City Beach, Florida is perfectly located between the Georgia home base and the locations he is working with on the coast. Vortex Springs uses Billy as the Director of their Armed Services program as well local operations on the Gulf location.

Armed Services
While using Panama City for open water training in the mid-1980’s Billy met then Capt. Danny Grizzard aboard one of the local dive charter boats. That frienship grew through the years and serves as the basis of the joint training now offered by both guys working together. Both Billy and Danny are NAUI course directors and were among the first to apply for and be approved as NAUI authorized VA testing location. This allows veterans to use their earned benefits to move through the progression of training and become NaUI certified SCUBA instructors. As lead on this project Billy has helped over two dozen military veterans reach this goal.
